Naples Thanksgiving 5K 2019 at Cambier Park

Start your day off with a lovely three(ish) mile walk through downtown Naples starting at Cambier Park. Sign up for the Naples Thanksgiving 5K 2019.

Before you start cooking, start walking. Join the Naples Thanksgiving 5K 2019 at Cambier Park for a quick stroll and some pumpkin pie. Share your blessings. Bring canned goods and/or clothing for St Matthew's House, too.

Naples Thanksgiving 5K 2019

Search homes for sale in the Naples/Marco Island areaBefore you start cooking, start walking. Gather friends and family together for a lovely walk or run around downtown Naples. Coordinators invite everyone of all ages to join. At 8:30 am, kids between the ages of 5 and 12 can participate in a 1K fun run (approximately 0.6 miles). For the even younger tykes (ages 5 and under), let them run free in the 100-yard dash at 8:45 am. After the 5K, enjoy a tasty dessert of pumpkin pie.

Registration for the Thanksgiving 5K

Pre-register before 10:59 pm on Wednesday, November 27th. Pay $30 per person and receive a long-sleeve commemorative shirt (5K participants only). Procrastinators can still register on the day of the event. However, that line stays open from 6 am to 7:20 am on the 28th only. Last-minute scrambles aren’t the most fun. So, I suggest registering online ahead of time. Then, you just need to pick up your packet on the 26th or 27th. It costs nothing for your little ones to participate in the 1K or 100-yard dash. However, you still need to register them online ahead of time.

St Matthew’s House

At the 5K, volunteers pledged to collect canned food and new or gently used clothing items for St Matthew’s House. So, please bring what you can with you to Cambier Park on November 28th or when you pick up your packet ahead of time. Additionally, Moe’s Southwest Grill pledged one pound of beans and rice for every registered participant.

Halloween on 5th Spooktacular

Search homes for sale in the Naples/Marco Island areaOn Halloween, organizers close off 5th Ave S between 3rd and 9th to set up their annual Spooktacular event. They promise more than 30 activities geared towards children of all ages. Past favorites (like Balloon Buccaneers, Sea Shelly, and live painter Marcus Zotter) make return appearances to the event. However, new for this year will be the Family Circus Acrobats. Watch as they perform amazing aerial feats high above 5th Ave S. To add to the festivities of the day, they perform live dressed as pirates! Plus, you’ll definitely want to visit the House of Heroes to see more of your favorite crime-fighting heroes in one place. They’ll be dressed up and ready for a photo-op with the kids. So, parents, make sure you bring your camera with you.

Two costume contests promise fun and prizes for man and beast. Well, maybe not man and beast. But definitely fun for kids and pets. For a suggested donation of $5, enter your child or four-legged family member into their own costume contest. You must register between 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm. The contests take place at 6 pm. Proceeds benefit the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Resource Center and the Humane Society of Collier County.

When you get hungry, pick up a snow cone, some popcorn or cotton candy. Proceeds from the sale of these items benefit Baby Basics. For something a little more substantial, grab a sub from Dave’s Cosmic Subs. Ice cream will also be available for sale. And, of course, merchants along 7th Ave S pass out candy to all trick-or-treaters who enter their stores.
